Information:

With climate change-fueled extreme weather events becoming more and more common, our electric grid faces mounting threats. When increasingly common weather events occur, grid infrastructure such as fossil-fueled power plants can fail, leading to power outages that could become more frequent unless we take action.

Right now, there are very few regulations requiring utilities to publish information about power plant failures, which can lead to power outages. In order to make informed decisions about how to ensure grid reliability, we need to have information about power plant outages publicly available, and accessible from power plant operators. All too often, these reliability issues are caused by fossil fuels, particularly gas. But if we don't have access to the right information, we can't plan a reliable and clean grid for the future.

Take action today and ask your state leaders to require power plant operators to make detailed information about power plant outages publicly available and accessible.
