Volunteer Opportunities

LEAD

LEAD is currently accepting volunteers at their weekly work parties. Join the as they remove non-native plants and restore the forest ecosystem. The will be meeting at the Biology Greenhouses behind Arntzen each week and working in various locations on campus. Locations will be sent out before the event via email.


Community Service Center

CSC helps students get connected to volunteer opportunities both on and off campus to help build a stronger community and improved selves. If you are looking for ways to meet community needs, build your resumé, and form lasting friendships, this is the place for you.

The CSC offers: Days of Service, Mentorship Hours, Newsletter, Off-Campus Space

Location: The Community Service Center is located in Viking Union 424. We also support the Western Hub of Living Essentials (WHOLE) Pantry, the Literacy Tutor Program, and Leadership programming.

Office hours: Every weekday from 9 am to 4 pm.


NSEA

The Nooksack Salmon Enhancement Association (NSEA) is a 501 c(3) community-based, non-profit organization focused on reversing the trend of declining salmon runs in Whatcom County. They enhance river, creek, and riparian habitat while educating people of all ages to provide Pacific salmon & Steelhead the best chance at survival.

Each project combines community education, action, and reflection as we strive for Food Sovereignty: the right of peoples to healthy and culturally appropriate food produced through ecologically sound and sustainable methods, and their right to define their own food and agriculture systems.


RE Sources

Based in Bellingham, Washington, RE Sources is a team of trusted and time-tested environmental advocates, educators and scientists.

They give people practical ways to make a real difference for the planet, from passing stronger laws that protect the environment and empowering youth voices, to holding corporate polluters accountable, reducing waste and our own carbon footprint.

They do this through smart policy, grassroots mobilization, hands-on science and environmental education.


Lummi Island Heritage Trust

The mission of Lummi Island Heritage Trust is to create a legacy of abundant open space, native habitat, and natural resources on Lummi Island by inspiring people to protect and care for the island's farms, forests, wetlands, and shorelines forever.

Lummi Island Heritage Trust is guided by science and integrity in preserving, nurturing, and restoring the island’s natural systems, honoring its cultural heritage, and cultivating community resilience.
